These terms are the agreement between you and iLS ("iLS", "we", "us") for using iLS — Instagram Last Seen — at iglastseen.com and its dashboard. Together with the Acceptable Use Policy, they form the contract described in section 2. The Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data. If you don't accept them, don't use iLS.
Questions: [email protected].
1. What iLS does, and what it doesn't
iLS signs in to your own Instagram account, opens the direct-message conversations you already have with the people you add, and reads one thing: the activity status Instagram shows there ("Active now", "Active 25m ago"). It saves each reading as a timeline and can alert you when someone comes online.
It only works when:
- you already have a DM conversation with that person, and
- both of you have Instagram's activity status turned on.
If either stops being true — they turn activity status off, they block you, the conversation is gone — iLS can no longer read anything for that person. That is how Instagram works, not a fault in iLS.
iLS does not read message contents, tell you whether a message was opened, show you who someone talks to, or access the other person's account in any way.
iLS is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Instagram or Meta.
2. How the contract is formed
- When you sign up, you tick a box confirming that you agree to these Terms and the Acceptable Use Policy and have read the Privacy Policy. You can't create an account without ticking it.
- The contract starts when your account is created. We record which version of the terms you accepted (the date at the top of this page) and when.
- Each purchase is made under the version of the terms in force when you pay. The checkout page shows the price and what you're buying before you pay.
- You can read, save or print these terms at any time on this page.
3. Who can use iLS
- You must be 18 or older.
- You may only connect an Instagram account that is yours.
- You must give a real email address and keep your iLS login to yourself. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
- One person, one account. Don't create several accounts to get around a limit.
4. Your Instagram account
4.1 The permission you give us
When you connect Instagram, you authorise iLS to sign in to your Instagram account through an automated browser and to do only what reading activity status requires:
- sign in, including entering a verification code you give us;
- keep that signed-in session, encrypted, so we don't need your password again;
- open your inbox and the conversations with the people you've added;
- read the activity status shown there.
That is the whole permission. iLS will never post, send or delete messages, like, follow or unfollow, change your settings or profile, or use your account for anything else. Your Instagram password is used once, to sign in, and is never stored.
You can withdraw this permission at any time by disconnecting Instagram in the dashboard. Disconnecting deletes the stored session and stops all reading.
4.2 The risks you accept
Read this part carefully.
- Reading Instagram this way breaks Instagram's terms of use. Instagram can restrict, challenge, lock or permanently ban an account it believes is automated. iLS spaces its checks out and works from a single signed-in session, but it cannot remove this risk.
- Opening a conversation has a side effect. To read the activity status, iLS opens your existing conversation. Messages that person sent you may then stop showing as unread.
- Your relationship with Instagram is yours. Only you are a party to your Instagram account and its terms. Using iLS is your decision, made knowing the above.
If you're not comfortable risking your Instagram account, don't connect it.
5. Using iLS lawfully
You must use iLS only in line with the Acceptable Use Policy. In short: you need a lawful reason to know when someone is online; you must never use iLS to control, pressure, intimidate, harass or stalk anyone; and you must stop if the person asks you to, blocks you or cuts contact with you. Breaking that policy is a serious breach of these terms.
6. Price, payment and renewal
6.1 What you pay for
- The monthly plan includes one contact.
- Extra contacts are a one-time purchase each, up to 10 contacts in total. We cap it there because more frequent checks put your own Instagram account at greater risk.
- Extra contacts only work while your plan is active. If your plan ends, they stop counting; they stay on your account and count again if you subscribe again.
Prices are in US dollars, or in Turkish lira if you're in Türkiye. The checkout page shows the full amount before you pay.
6.2 How payment works
Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
The plan renews automatically every month and is charged to the same payment method until you cancel. If a renewal can't be charged, Stripe will retry for a short time; if it still fails, the plan lapses and tracking stops.
6.3 Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from Billing → Manage or cancel in the dashboard. Cancelling stops the next renewal: your plan stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for, then ends. We don't refund the rest of a period you've cancelled, except as set out in 6.4 and section 9.
6.4 Your 14-day right of withdrawal
If you're a consumer, you can withdraw from a purchase (the plan or an extra contact) within 14 days of buying it, without giving a reason. Email [email protected] from your account email and say you're withdrawing; one sentence is enough.
iLS is a digital service that starts as soon as you pay, so one rule changes this:
- If, at checkout, you expressly asked us to start the service straight away and confirmed that you lose the right of withdrawal once it starts, the right no longer applies to that purchase. For consumers in Türkiye this follows the Distance Contracts Regulation (Mesafeli Sözleşmeler Yönetmeliği, Article 15). For consumers in the EU, if you withdraw after asking us to start, we refund what you paid minus a fair share for the days you've already had.
- If checkout did not ask you for that confirmation, you keep the full right, and we refund the whole amount.
We refund within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal, to the payment method you used.
6.5 Price changes
We may change prices. We'll email you at least 30 days before a new price applies to your plan, and you can cancel before it does. A price change never affects a period you've already paid for.
6.6 Disputes about a charge
If something looks wrong, email us first — most problems are quicker to fix that way. This doesn't limit any right you have with your bank or card issuer.
7. No guarantee that iLS keeps working
iLS depends on Instagram, a third party that doesn't want to be read this way and can change its app, its website or its rules at any time. Because of that:
- iLS is provided "as is" and "as available".
- We don't promise that every check succeeds, that readings are complete or on time, that alerts arrive, or that iLS will keep working for any particular contact or at all.
- A reading reflects what Instagram displayed at that moment. Instagram's own status can be delayed or approximate, and iLS can't be more accurate than Instagram is.
- Push alerts depend on your browser and device; they don't currently reach iPhone.
Nothing in this section takes away rights you have under consumer law that can't be excluded by contract.
8. Our liability
- We are not responsible for what Instagram does to your account — a restriction, a verification challenge, a lock or a ban — because that is the risk described in 4.2, which you accept by connecting.
- We are not responsible for decisions you make based on iLS. A timeline shows when an account was active on Instagram. It doesn't show who was using it, why, or with whom, and it isn't proof of anything beyond that.
- We aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profits, lost data or damage to reputation or relationships.
- Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid iLS in the 12 months before the event that caused the claim.
None of these limits applies to harm we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, to death or personal injury, or to any liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit (including under Turkish Code of Obligations Article 115 and consumer protection law).
9. Suspension and ending the agreement
- You can stop using iLS at any time: cancel your plan and ask us to delete your account by writing to [email protected]. We handle deletion requests within 30 days.
- We may suspend or close your account, and stop tracking for any contact, straight away if you break these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, if a person you've added makes a credible complaint, or if the law or an authority requires it. If we close your account for a breach, we don't refund the current period, except where the law requires it.
- We may stop offering iLS altogether — for example if Instagram makes it impossible. We'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email where we can, and refund the unused part of any period you've already paid for.
When the agreement ends, reading stops and your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.
10. If a claim is brought against us because of you
If someone brings a claim against iLS because you used it unlawfully or broke the Acceptable Use Policy, you agree to cover the loss and reasonable costs this causes us, to the extent the law allows and in proportion to your fault. We'll tell you promptly about any such claim.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Each version is identified by the date at the top of this page.
- For a change that matters — to price, to what iLS does, or to your rights — we'll email you at least 30 days before it takes effect, and ask you to accept the new version in the dashboard. We record that acceptance the same way as at sign-up.
- If you don't accept it, you can cancel before it takes effect, and the current terms keep applying until the end of the period you've paid for. After that, you can't keep using iLS without accepting the new version.
- Smaller changes (wording, clarifications) that don't reduce your rights take effect when published here.
12. The rest
- If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.
- Not enforcing a term straight away doesn't mean we've given it up.
- We may transfer this agreement as part of a sale or reorganisation of the service; your rights under it stay the same.
- We contact you by email at the address on your account. You contact us at [email protected].
13. Governing law and disputes
- These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Türkiye.
- If you're a consumer in Türkiye, you can take a dispute to the Consumer Arbitration Committee (Tüketici Hakem Heyeti) or the Consumer Court (Tüketici Mahkemesi) where you live or where you bought the service, within the limits the law sets.
- If you're a consumer in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in the courts there.
- For anyone who isn't a consumer, the courts and enforcement offices of Istanbul (Çağlayan) have jurisdiction.
Before going to court, please write to us — we'd rather sort it out.
